Patient/Guardian Signatures, Consents, Financial Forms, Data Collection, After Care and more.

From iVisitDoc (live), send and get signatures on any form. This includes patients, guardians, guarantors, medical records releases, etc. This is an actual signature created with a stylus or fingertip. The actual form with signature is returned to iVisitDoc as a live form, just as if the patient were there signing on an iPad or signature pad. Accreditation agencies prefer this to a PIN or electronic click created by DocuSign®. Eliminating the need for DocuSign will save many organizations as much as $5,000 a year.

Send secure Texts, Documents and Video between staff, care teams, and patients.

Safe, Secure Video Telehealth

This will allow Therapy Sessions, Virtual Meetings, Support meetings etc. as part of our After Care system. The possibilities for safe, HIPAA compliant video are endless and often billable.

It's Illegal!

Did you know that every time you send an encrypted email with Protected Health Information (PHI) in it, you are violating HIPAA. And any time you text with a patient or about a patient including ANY PHI (Full Name, SS#, Address, DOB, Cell Phone #, Credit Info, etc.) are all Protected Health Information. It's Illegal!

HIPAA-Compliance

One of the most important legal matters facing the health care industry as a whole is the protection of Personal Information and compliance with HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

The Addiction Treatment industry is not exempt from the HIPAA laws and must comply with these regulations. One of the best ways to ensure compliance is to invest in an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platform that is HIPAA compliant.

iVisitDoc was designed inside the Addiction Treatment community…FOR…the Addiction Treatment community. And since Day One, iVisitDoc has always had the security parameters in place to ensure your records are protected and HIPAA compliant.

Of course, we have to add that your organization must also have policies and procedures in place to ensure the human element follows all the HIPAA regulations.

But it brings great peace of mind to the owners of Treatment Centers knowing that their records are SAFE and SECURE inside of iVisitDoc's fully HIPAA compliant environment.

It is illegal to email or text anything containing patient information Any email or text message containing PHI, is illegal, for example:

Between a patient and provider, doctor to doctor, nurse to doctor Biller to provider or vice versa Emailing a consent or any form from provider to parent/guardian for signature

Emailing an invoice for a deductible

Emailing a VOB or EOB, to or from a biller or office

Texting a picture of a patient, wound, or whatever, even between doctors

Text or email a prescription refill request, or prescription refill

Doctor emails a scanned PDF of a prescription to a pharmacy Doctor emails a patient file to another doctor for a consultation

All illegal under HIPAA. iVisitDoc Messenger solves this problem.

Did you know

…that every time you send an encrypted email with Protected Health Information (PHI) in it, you are violating HIPAA. And any time you text with a patient or about a patient including ANY PHI (Full Name, SS#, Address, DOB, Cell Phone #, Credit Info, etc.) are all Protected Health Information. It's Illegal!

Depending on the circumstances, it doesn't matter if you're emailing a VOB or EOB to or from your Biller, or contacting a patient for a consent, guardianship form, or even taking a picture of an insurance card to send to your office or biller. It's Illegal!

The fine? Up to $50,000 per violation. PER VIOLATION! It seems innocent enough: Say you intake a patient on Saturday and it's a bare bones crew in the facility. The patient needs some meds so the LPN or PA on duty enters a request for a script and texts the doctor "Patient Joe Rodriquez just admitted to detox, can you please log in to the EMR and approve the order?" It's Illegal!

Or how about emailing a VOB form to/from your Biller? It's Illegal!

Doctor to Doctor, that's ok, right, to email a file from one doctor to another for a consult? NO! It's Illegal!

Doctor texts a PA: "I'll be late from lunch, go ahead and see Joe Brown and give him the Vivitrol." It's Illegal!

Emailing a copy of an invoice to a parent/guardian for payment? It's Illegal!

Emailing an EOB or billing statement to the patient so he or she can see what was paid and what remains open? It's Illegal!

Emailing a prescription from a doctor's office to a pharmacy? It's Illegal!

Patient texts doctor: "Hi, it's Joe Smith, my wound is growing, here's a picture" Doctor replies, "Joe, that looks serious, I'll meet you at the hospital ER." It's Illegal!

Texting a picture of a rash to/from patient or nurse to doctor with any PHI like the patient name in the text? It's Illegal!

Depending on the circumstances, it doesn't matter if you're emailing a VOB or EOB to or from your Biller, or contacting a patient for a consent, guardianship form, or even taking a picture of an insurance card to send to your office or biller. It's Illegal!

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) says that you cannot communicate any PHI (Protected Health Information) via any means or medium that is not encrypted. Standard email/texting is not encrypted. iVisitDoc Messenger solves the problem. Here's how iVisitDoc Messenger solves the problem: iVisitDoc Messenger is a secure, encrypted communications and messaging tool that meets the requirements of HIPAA, and is FIPS Certified.
